We all know that we spend too much time on our phones, and everyone is aware of the numerous negative impacts that this has on our mental health and general well-being. It can be hard to clock off and put your phone away, but planning a time or activity in your day where you will be off your phone will make a big difference to your energy, happiness and health.
Read A Book
When was the last time you read a book? I know that I am guilty of opting to scroll through social media on my phone rather than pick up a book and read it. Reading is a great activity to relax, unwind and give your eyes and mind a rest from the screen.
Go For A Walk
It might sound like a lot of effort, but once you’ve got into your walking clothes and put your runners on you’ve got past the hard part. Going for a walk can be an effective way to meditate, unwind and also re-energise. Moving your body in a low-impact way such as walking still releases those magical endorphins that make us feel so good.
Talk To A Friend
Talk to a friend, but not through your phone! Talk to a friend in real life, get a coffee, brunch or go out for dinner together. Make an effort to leave your phones in your bags or to the side and have a genuine conversation with each other. You’ll be amazed at the difference not having your phone in a couple of inches proximity makes to the quality of your conversation.
