To look and feel healthy you have to put the effort in! You will not wake up looking healthy and fresh if you have been treating your body like a party girl or party boy. Once you start following bad habits such as continuous drinking, drug habits, and unhealthy foods you will see the results. Substituting water for fizzy drinks and alcohol will keep your body from feeling dehydrated and rundown. This will also prevent your beautiful lush skin from becoming dry and unpleasant.
Remember the phrase ‘my body is a temple’ purely for inspiration, even if you just have a trial week. I guarantee you will feel a lot better and wake up feeling happy and fresh. Follow these steps for your week of change, or if you can last longer or really want to challenge yourself by all means go for it!
Sleep is your best friend: Sleep is the best therapy. Your body is resting and your mind is dreaming. You regain your strength and relax from your day which gives you a positive boost for the next morning.
Avoid alcohol: I know it’s a great feeling to go crazy at the end of the working week and drink your weekend away with friends, but try and avoid it, because it isn’t doing your body or wallet any favours.
Green Tea: Cleanse your body; drink a cup of green tea every night. This is very good for you. It cleans your system out and it’s healthy. The Japanese green tea is delish and the Vietnamese green tea is also very good; but if you can’t get your hands on that, then the tea bags you can buy in the shops will do just fine.
Yoga: Connect with your inner soul! Take time out from your busy day to meditate and stretch. You will feel a lot more relaxed and happy. Challenge your thoughts and focus on your inner soul. Breathe in, breathe out.
Fruits and vegetables: Challenge yourself to eat two pieces of fruit and three vegetables every day, which is the standard intake for the average individual. Fruits make you feel great, so blend them together in a blender and get creative. You can create fruit and veggie juices. Plus, there are no added sugars, colours, or preservatives. BONUS!
Exercise: Aim for 30 minutes of exercise every day, even if you are just walking your dog or doing the shopping. Exercise makes you feel good as a person and you will feel even better when you have accomplished your exercise goals! It helps with your health and gets the blood pumping. Breathe some fresh air and appreciate life.
It may be a challenge at first, but you don’t have to undertake all these steps at once. Maybe just try a few and see how you go with it. If you like it then continue, just remember it takes 21 days to make a new habit! So push through and believe in yourself. Good luck.
