Armada Dandenong Plaza has launched their 2021 winter school holidays’ program. Week 1 includes fun winter-themed craft activities and week 2 will be a simulated educational shopping centre carpark safety workshop as part of the Shopping Centre’s Safety Week initiative.
School Holidays Week 1 :
What: Kids Winter-themed Craft Activities Workshops. Create, decorate and take home cool winter crafts.
Monday 28 June: Hot Chocolate Mug Art
Date: Monday 28 June to Sunday 2 July 2021 (bookings essential)
Location: Visit Information Desk on Level 2 near Daiso at Armada Dandenong Plaza to bookinto a free winter themed craft activity. Time: 11am to 3pm daily
School Holidays Week 2:
Throughout Week 2 of the Victorian School Holidays, Armada Dandenong Plaza is launching a Safety Week initiative for the entire centre. As part of the centre’s Safety Week initiative they will be running the following program of activities:
What: Stay Safe at the Shopping Centre Workshop:
Kids will be able to participate a fun educational Safety Week, carpark road rules activity. A mini simulated carpark will be set up inside Armada Dandenong Plaza where kids learn to navigate car park safety road rules.
The simulated onsite mini carpark will be set up inside Armada Dandenong Plaza in Centre Court and will help kids learn to navigate carpark road rules in a fun, interactive and educational manner.
Key activities kids will learn through the simulated Stay Safe in the Carpark Kids Activity will include:
1. Walking in the carpark, using marked crossings and footpaths.
2. The importance of walking next to a responsible adult.
3. Not to run in a carpark.
4. Looking out for cars, pulling into car parks and reversing out of car parks. 5. Why kids or pets are not to be left in hot cars.
6. How to use shopping centre trolleys appropriately. The simulated car park workshop will teach children why they shouldn’t be pushing shopping trolleys or standing in shopping trolley’s and to return shopping trolleys to the correct bay once they have been used.
7. To stay out of restricted areas such as loading docks.
8. If you need help or see something unsafe to ask a security guard for help
At the end of the Stay Safe in Carpark Workshop each child will receive a certificate to take home.

Tommy the Trolley:
Meet Armada Dandenong Plaza’s Safety Trolley, Tommy. Log onto www.armadadandenongplaza.com.au to meet Tommy the Trolley, an animated kids’ video where Tommy explains shopping trolley safety in a fun way, educational and easy to understand manner.
Coffee with a Cop:
Coffee with a Cop invites members of the public to share a coffee with their local police to discuss issues, raise questions or just get to know a little more about the activities and role of police within their local community. Local Police Officers will be available for a friendly chat over free coffee to members of the community. Armada Dandenong Plaza has been running regular ‘Coffee with a Cop’ events since 2018.
