Autumn Glow

The warmer months are fading away, but that doesn’t mean your glow has to.

Our skin has had a real workout during the past few warmer months and now it’s autumn – which is a time to recuperate.

Want to know how? Let’s dig in!

Autumn Means Patience

Think about it. How long does it take for those gorgeous maple trees to shed their leaves in preparation for winter? A whole three months, I hear you say. The fall is a beautiful time of the year. It’s not too hot, not too cold, pretty much just perfect.

The good news is that your skin can continue to be just perfect during autumn as well. Try a glass of warm water with a dash of Certified Organic Lemon juice with a spoonful of Certified Organic Honey to keep your skin supple and firm first thing in the morning (before eating anything).

Keep Your Skin Hydrated

Keeping the moisture in your skin is very important as the weather takes a turn for the cold. This is particularly important for those of us who live in dry winter areas where chapping, redness, and soreness is an (unhappy) everyday affair. There are many natural, organic options out there that will make sure that your skin is hydrated throughout the day and night without adding chemicals and other unnatural substances that may overload your skin.

Look for companies that understand the different needs your skin has in the morning and night time. A day cream should be lightweight so you don’t sweat during your daily activities which can often promote pimples and acne, but should also add a protective layer to your skin under the sun (remember, just because the weather is cooler, doesn’t mean you can slacken on your UV protection routine). A night cream on the other hand, should intensively moisturise your skin while your body is resting to ensure that you’re not only ready for the next day ahead, but also so you can work on keeping your wrinkles at bay while prolonging the elastic suppleness of your skin to keep it more youthful.

Get a Massage

Technology was supposed to make our lives easier. The fact is that our lives haven’t gotten slower, they’ve gotten faster and more stressful.

Now that you have an email account, your boss can get you to finish that report with the ungodly deadline Hercules would have a tough time achieving after you put the kids to bed. Now that you’ve got a mobile, the electricity company can ring you just as you were about to snooze off on your two hour commute back home about the latest offer they’re hoping you’ll be jumping at. Look on the bright side, now you have two hours to think about what you’re going to be cooking for dinner as soon as you walk in the door.

You get the picture.

Getting a massage isn’t a luxury anymore, it’s a necessity. You need to be able to switch off, because your skin is a mirror of your insides. If you feel relaxed, your skin shows it. Find pure, natural massage oils that will suit your needs. Mother Earth has created a bountiful amount of natural remedies that are just right for you because chances are high that you aren’t alone in feeling like you’re constantly trying to catch a train you’re late for!

There you have it. Now go and keep that summer glow!
