The range boasts innovative designs and modern sofas that showcase a revolutionary new synthetic-down fill material, made entirely from recycled PET plastic water bottles. This initiative means that over 600,000 plastic bottles per year are prevented from entering landfill.
You heard it right: a couch filled with recycled plastic bottles.
“We’re pleased to integrate a new, environmentally friendly fill into our upholstery manufacturing,” said David Podsiadlo, Lead Designer at Gus* Design Group. “We expect to prevent more than half a million plastic bottles from entering landfills this year. Not only are we committed to offering modern, timeless design, but to do so using sustainable resources and processes.”
Gus* is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and manufactures all upholstered sofas, sectionals, and chair frames with 100% FSC©-certified hardwood, in support of responsible forest management.
The PET filling has been incorporated into desirable styles such as Gus* Margot Sofa / Gus* Bloor Sofa / Flip Sofa Bed all forming part of Gus’s latest & current catalogue (US Spring 2016).
