Family Fun Event at Armada Dandenong Plaza

Armada Dandenong Plaza is holding an inclusive centre-wide ‘Family Fun ’ event taking place on Saturday, 7 May 2022 from 11am to 2pm in celebration of both Eid al-Fitr (taking place on Monday, 2 May 2022) and Mother’s Day (Sunday, 8 May 2022)

The Family Fun Event

Eid al-Fitr, also called the “Festival of Breaking the Fast”, is celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. Although Eid Festival dates vary worldwide the official date in Australia it begins is 2 May 2022 however Armada Dandenong Plaza will celebrate on Saturday, 7 May 2022 with a Family Fun event for both Eid and Mother’s Day which is the following day on Sunday, 8 May 2022.

The free line up of activities to be held at Armada Dandenong Plaza’s Family Fun Day includes a wildlife display with shows at 11.30am & 1pm, kid’s Mother’s Day mug craft activity , Eid ready henna art station and entertainment & giveaways.

Says, Anne Johnson, Centre Manager at Armada Dandenong Plaza, “In the spirit of inclusiveness we are celebrating both calendar events Eid and Mother’s Day in the same Family Fun event this year. Events have been tailored to suit our customers celebrating Eid such as henna art and Mother’s Day craft activities for mums and their children. We would like to take this opportunity to wish our customers a happy Eid and Mother’s Day.”

Armada Dandenong Plaza also has a crescent moon on display on Level 2 near Daiso in recognition of Ramadan. The crescent moon is symbolic as Ramadan commences when the moon is sighted on the 9^thmonth of the Islamic lunar calendar. Customers are welcome to take a photo next to the crescent display which will be on display until Tuesday, 3 May 2022.
