Moonlight Wins Best Picture in Major Oscars Blunder

Moonlight won Best Picture at the 2017 Academy Awards, only after La La Land was announced the winner…

Awkward.

Presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway were responsible for the mix-up, reading the wrong film title and provoking a series of very awkward events in the following few minutes.

The cast and crew of La La Land were halfway through their victory speech when interrupted by one of the directors of the awards show, who accurately announced that Moonlight was the actual winner.

Kind of reminiscent of Australia’s 2010 Next Top Model final am I right?

Alas, the night was otherwise a success and much more racially diverse on the whole, so it wasn’t all bad.
