If you’re on the hunt for the best dessert restaurants on the Gold Coast, look no further. We’ve scoped out the Coast’s most decadent dessert venues, to make cheat day everyday – go on, treat yo’self!

1. Pancakes on the Rocks

With pancakes in the name of the restaurant, you know you’re in for a delicious buttermilk treat, and this venue doesn’t disappoint! We suggest trying the Devil’s Delight, with chocolate pancakes, strawberries, cream, and chocolate ice cream, all drizzled with chocolate sauce, or the Bananarama – fluffy buttermilk pancakes with grilled banana and home-made butterscotch sauce, topped with cream and vanilla ice cream….our mouths are salivating!

Location: Surfers Paradise (Soul Retail, 4 The Esplanade) and Mermaid Beach (2488 Gold Coast Highway, Mermaid Beach)

Hours: Surfers Paradise 7am – 10:30pm every day, Mermaid Beach  Monday – Thursday 7:30am to 9:00pm / Friday – 7:30am to 10:00pm / Saturday – 7:00am to 10:00pm / Sunday – 7:00am to 9:00pm

2. My Gelato Kirra

There’s an option to go large at this joint and why not?! Scoop in your favourite creamy coconut, nutella, or fruit flavour gelato, sorbet or ice-cream and continue the goodness back home.

Location: 6a/1 Douglas, Kirra

Hours: 11am-9:30pm

3. The Fudge Shop

If you have a sweet tooth, (and we know you do!) you simply must take a drive to the coast’s hinterland, and pay a visit to this quaint fudge shop. With as many flavours as there are bird species in the nearby surrounds, you might need to plan some extra time here! Can’t decide? Ask them for a taster – they want you to loooove the flavour you choose to savour!

Location: 3 Lyrebird Ridge Road, Springbrook

Hours: Mon-Fri 10:30-4:30, Sat/Sun 10-5

4. Passiontree Velvet

Who said dessert needs to follow dinner? This may not be known as a dessert venue, but we say break the rules and head to this English tea house for an afternoon of pastries or high tea. Sit back and relax in the comfortable lounges!

Location: 72-80 Marine Parade, Coolangatta

Hours: 9am-5pm

5. Max Brenner

No dessert list would be complete without Max Brenner listed! Famous for its chocolatey goodness, we just can’t go past the coconut hot chocolate when we hit this place up, but you might want to delve into waffle sandwiches or go all out with a chocolate fondue. And the best part? You can buy a hug-mug experience kit to keep the chocolate hit going long after you’ve left the building.

Location: Find them at various Gold Coast locations

Hours: Sunday – Thursday 9am – 11pm, Sat-Sun 9-12am
