If you’ve been looking for a way to convince your boss you do your best work in your comfiest attire, then look no further. Friday 21st July is National Pyjama Day and the beginning of all your casual Friday dreams coming true. Plus you get to raise money for a worthwhile cause at the same time!
The Pyjama Foundation gives educational support to children in foster care through one-on-one mentoring. The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare found that 92% of foster care children were below the average reading level at 7 years of age, and that 75% did not complete their high school education. Centred around the Love of Learning Program, the foundation trains their Pyjama Angels to spend 1.5 hours each week performing educational activities, with their carefully matched foster children.
Additionally, the Pyjama Angels provide children with valuable one-on-one time, to ensure their emotional growth matches their educational development. This is invaluable to children who have grown up with neglect, sexual and physical abuse.
So don those daggy slippers this Friday 21st July!
