$10,000 in Giveaways kick starts a Very Merry Christmas at Dandenong Plaza

Shoppers at Dandenong Plaza have the chance to win a lucky gift to kick start their Christmas shopping this festive season with $10,000 worth of gift cards to be given away for Black Friday.

Dandenong Plaza also is planning 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways in December as part of its festive celebrations that include children’s activities, Christmas displays and sessions to get a free photo with Santa himself.

Many exciting activities will be returning for the first time since 2019 to once again provide an unforgettable shopping experience and help take away some of the stress and hassle that can occur at Christmas time.

$10,000 Gift Card Giveaway on Black Friday:

Dandenong Plaza will help 200 shoppers get a head start on their Christmas shopping at the Black Friday sales event by giving away $10,000 worth of Dandenong Plaza gift cards.

Entry into the competition is free.

Shoppers can collect an entry form from any retailer between 9am Monday, November 21, and 11am on Friday, 25 November 2022, and submit their form into the Entry Barrel located at Level 2, Centre Court.

The winners of the gift cards valued at $20, $50 and $100 will be drawn and instantly receive their prize at a grand event to be held on Friday, November 25, from 11am in Centre Court.

12 Days of Festive Giveaways:

One major prize will be given away to treat a lucky customer every day during the 12 Days of Festive Giveaways, running from Monday, December 12, to Friday, December 23.

Dandenong Plaza will be giving away prizes sourced from various retailers including a Kmart Camping Pack, Reading Cinema Gift Card, 10ft trampoline from Rebel Sport, and fresh food and grocery vouchers.

To enter, customers must make a purchase of at least $30 at any retailer in the centre during the 12 Days of Festive Giveaways and upload their receipt at armadadandneongplaza.com.au, where customers also can view the full list of prizes and terms and conditions.

 

Letters to Santa:

From Tuesday, November 1, children can post their letters to Santa at the North Pole via Santa’s Mailbox, located on Level 2, near Daiso.

Children can write their own letter or download a template at armadadandenongplaza.com.au and Santa will respond to all letters.

The last mail will be collected at the end of the day on Sunday, December 11.

 

Free Festive Kids Activities:

Children can take part in free Christmas-themed activities being held across two weekends in December.

A different activity will be held each day between 11am and 2pm at Level 2, near Daiso:

Saturday, December 3 – Christmas Stocking Decorating.

Sunday, December 4 – Christmas Mask Decorating, and each child will receive a free bauble gift.

Saturday, December 10 – Festive Face Painting.

Sunday, December 11 – Arrivals from the North Pole. Santa, Mrs Claus, Santa’s Elves and Rudolph and friends from the North Pole will be appearing to entertain children, and will roam all three levels of the centre. A Christmas Jazz Trio will provide the music.

 

Santa’s Arrival:

On Friday 16 December Santa will arrive at Dandenong Plaza to take up residence on his throne for two weeks.

Santa will arrive on a trackless train at Centre Court from 3.30pm and make his way to his throne located on Level 2, near Daiso.

The train will be available until 6.30pm to take children for rides across Level 2.

 

Free Santa Photography:

Dandenong Plaza again offers children and families the opportunity to have a photo with Santa for free. Photos will also be printed for free during the Thursday and Friday session times only. Bookings are not required.

Parents and caregivers should bring their own camera or smartphone to take their free Santa family photo during their meet and greet with the man in red, however an Elf will be on hand to use the device to capture the moment.

Each child who visits Santa also will receive a free gift.

Saturday, December 17, and Sunday, December, 18, 11am – 2pm

Monday, December 19, to Wednesday, December 21, 11am – 2pm

Families with children who have special needs can book a 15-minute, individually tailored session to get a photo with Santa at a time that suits them, and during a quieter time of trade at the centre. Sensitive Santa Photos take the centre’s sounds and lighting into consideration, and accommodate other needs.

Christmas Gift Wrapping:

Shoppers can have their gifts wrapped for them by a professional between Monday, December 12, and Saturday, December 24, at the Christmas Gift Wrapping Station on Level 2, Centre Court.

It will be open between 10am and 4pm on the Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Saturdays; and 10am and 7pm on the Thursdays and Fridays.

The service will cost a gold coin donation, which will be donated to the Salvation Army to support people who are experiencing homelessness.

 

Christmas Choirs and Christmas Displays:

Local primary school Christmas choirs will perform throughout December to help shoppers get into the festive mood. Festive music also will be played throughout Dandenong Plaza from mid-November.

Festive artwork completed by local primary school students also will be featured in displays.

 

Extended Christmas Trading Hours:

To help shoppers ensure they can make all their purchases this festive season, the centre will be open for extended hours from Monday, December 12.

Dandenong Plaza will be trading on New Year’s Day from 12pm to 5pm.
