After months of anticipation and speculation, actress-turned-Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has given birth to the royal baby. Weighing 7lbs 3 oz, the baby’s arrival was announced via the Duke and Duchess’ official Instagram account, with the couple thanking the public for their support during this “exceptionally joyful time.” Harry told reporters outside Windsor Castle that he was “over the moon” and expressed admiration for his wife, saying he was “incredibly proud” of the Duchess.

Pictures of the baby are yet to be released, but the public can expect more information over the forthcoming days. The baby is currently unnamed, but punters are betting on Arthur, Philip, Albert or James as the most popular choices. He will be raised in Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor, a property that was gifted to Meghan and Harry by the Queen.
