Dandenong Plaza has announced a week of activities to celebrate Harmony Week 2023, highlighting the theme of ‘everyone belongs’ commencing Monday, 20 March 2023 with a key event date on Saturday, 25 March from 11am to 3pm.
Harmony Week celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Harmony Week events have been celebrated in Australia since 1999 and have been a key event at Dandenong Plaza over the years.
Dandenong Plaza will embrace Harmony Week 2023 with the following activities and installations:
Cultural Facts Display: Monday 20 March to Sunday 26 March 2023
Walk through Dandenong Plaza to learn fun cultural facts.
Coffee with a Cop:
Meet and have a friendly conversation with the local Police, over a free coffee, on us!
When: Tuesday, 21 March, 10:30am–11:30am
Where: Muffin Break, Level 2 Food Court at Dandenong Plaza
Multicultural Performances:
Dandenong Plaza will host a variety of cultural performances to embrace the multicultural community. Join in on the visuals and sounds as you witness cultural performances including Aboriginal ceremonial dance, Melanesian dance, African drumming, Vietnamese dance, Bollywood performances, Middle Eastern belly dance and Polynesian dancing.

Free Cultural Workshops:
Learn a new skill at a cultural workshop, learn a language, Belly Dancing, Bollywood Dancing and African Drumming.

Roaming Character, Eisha the Elephant
Meet Eisha the Elephant, a life-size replica elephant, roaming Dandenong Plaza on Level 3 for entertainment and selfie photo opportunities.

Time: 11am to 2pm
Primary School Display
Decorated handprint displays by local Dandenong primary school students will be displayed at Dandenong Plaza. Student displays will capture what Harmony Week means to the individual students.
