Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The seventh installment of the behemoth saga is set 30 years after the events of 1983’s Return of the Jedi. Members of the original cast will be making reappearances including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher. Village Cinemas will release the film on Thursday, December 17.

Joy

Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, and Bradley Cooper all return to team up with director David O. Russell after the success of 2012’s Silver Linings Playbook. A biographical comedy-drama based on the life and success of “Miracle Mop” inventor, Joy Mangano. Released Saturday, December 26.

Trumbo

Breaking Bad’s legendary anti-hero, Bryan Cranston, plays famed Hollywood screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, who, in 1947, was blacklisted and imprisoned on suspicion of being a Communist sympathizer. Released Saturday, December 26.

99 Homes

Set during the 2008 housing market collapse, 99 Homes tells the story of a man who loses his home as a result of the crashing market. When he is given the opportunity to deal out to others the same treatment he received, things take a chilling turn. Playing at selected cinemas now.

Carol

Australia’s favorite leading-lady, Cate Blanchett, plays alongside Rooney Mara in this tale of transgressive love set in 1950s New York City. Released Thursday, January 14.
