International Chef Launches in Lara

Internationally renowned chef Atar Singh has just launched a new Curry at Corio restaurant in Lara over the weekend to meet overwhelming demand for his delectable curries in Greater Geelong.

Atar is renowned for his appearance on SBS Food’s The Chefs’ Line, and first brought his five-star curries to Greater Geelong in 2020 when he launched Curry at Corio at Corio Village Shopping Centre.

The 5-star reviews on google demonstrate just how popular his curries have been with the locals. His famous dishes among his mostly Australian clientele are Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Lamb, Rogan Josh, Lamb Vindaloo and nut-free Chicken Korma and Lamb Korma. The menu caters for all dietary considerations, with many vegetarian and vegan options and all curries are gluten-free and nut-free. The slow-cooking methods and in-house spice preparation that Atar uses ensures meals are full of flavour as well as being healthier than other methods.

Curry at Corio (Lara) known as C@C Lara is located at 4/9-25 McClelland Ave, Lara in a larger space than the restaurant at Corio Village, enabling Atar to showcase his service. Takeaway will still be available for customers to enjoy his innovative recipes at home.

Atar Singh, chef/owner, Curry at Corio and Curry at Corio (Lara) says:

We are so excited to bring our spices, flavours, cooking methods and 5-star service to a new, larger dining setting restaurant in Lara. We have been overwhelmed with the demand for our curries in Greater Geelong and the requests for quality dining experiences in Greater Geelong, especially by our customers from Lara. This led to the decision to launch Curry at Corio (Lara).”

Atar began his international career at The Connaught Palace, New Delhi, where he specialised in Butchery, Continental Food, Chinese/Indian and Tandoor. He also trained and worked as a Commie Chef for five years under the guidance of a chef from Moti Mahal – the birthplace of the original Indian dish, Butter Chicken. While working under celebrity chef Sanjiv Kapor and Harpal Sokhi at City Park Hotel in India, he was selected for a food festival in New York and was also part of the launch team for Yellow Chilli (India) by Chef Kapoor.

He worked in Japan for eight years before moving to Australia and continuing his career at restaurants including Atta, Piquancy, Babu ji, Tejas, Annapurna, and Ms Singh. He opened his first restaurant, Haldi, in Melbourne in 2018.

Curry @ Corio (Lara) is located at 4/9-25 McClelland Avenue, Lara.
