The accused Bourke Street killer, Dimitrious Gargasoulas, pleaded not guilty during a court appearance, via video link, on Thursday
The 27-year-old is charged with 6 counts of murder and 28 counts of attempted murder. Gargasoulas also has a number of charges that were handed down prior to the tragic event on Bourke Street, which he intends to fight on the basis of mental impairment.
Onlookers at court yesterday claim the defendant smirked on a number of occasions, and on previous court appearances Gargasoulas has declared that the Illuminati were to blame for the 6 deaths.
The accused has been seen by a psychiatrist with a report pending. Defence Counsel Tass Antos said the report is crucial to his defence.
