As has been tradition since 1979, Multiple Sclerosis is running their annual Readathon over the month of August. Readers of all ages are welcome, so if you are looking for the motivation to finish that stack of books on your bedside table, get your kids reading or improve your literacy, register now!
You’ll be raising funds for more than 23,000 people in Australia who are currently living with multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system that interferes with nerve impulses within the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. Sufferers commonly endure symptoms such as fatigue, bladder and bowel issues, pain, cognitive fog, tremors and numbness. The money raised from the readathon supports information sessions for the newly diagnosed, domestic support during periods of relapse, counselling, physical aids, treatment and much more. Not to mention, any donation over $2 is tax deductable! It’s as easy as signing up online and linking your fundraising page to your Facebook or Twitter account.
The reading period ends on August 31st and funds are due October 31st, so settle in with a good book and start reading!
