First he came into Dior and revolutionised the house with a modern twist on womenswear. After three years as creative director, he recently moved on to overseeing the creative direction at Calvin Klein and now, Raf Simons, king of all that is good and gracious in the industry, has teamed up with Adidas to design a range of new kicks for the season. Simons, with a love of all things simple and modernised, has emphasised his love for the major sports brand, stating in an interview that he’s always worn Adidas, so it comes as no surprise that he’s been enlisted to get his creative designs going again.

This time round, with Simons having worked with Adidas in the past, we see Simons working with sweet pastel and tonal colours for the collection, with the classic Stan Smiths silhouette that has made Adidas so widely popular with the streetwear crowd. Colours include white, black, purple, and red. Along with a unique take on the sneakers with Velcro straps and a luxurious and very Raf design, the sneakers will include the ever-familiar and beloved ‘R’ logo.

While Adidas may have just enlisted a partnership with Kanye West, Simons has had an extensive relationship working with Adidas in the past with very successful collaborations seeing shoes fly off the shelves, Simons has taken on the brand’s classic Stan Smiths sneakers and redesigned them with a ‘Raf-ified’ look that’s expected to be available in stores globally later in August during the A/W 2016-17 fashion season. Prices are expected to range anywhere between $330 – $415 USD, depending on whether they’re high or low cut.

The Belgian designer recently showcased his Spring/Summer 2017 Menswear collection for the brand Raf Simons, and with all the new projects that he’s undertaking now, there’s no doubt that he’s going to keep going to the top post-Dior.
