When Beyonce announced she was pregnant with twins, people went crazy with delight—and not just for the way she announced it on Instagram. They also went crazy when she was announced to headline Coachella, the annual Music & Arts Festival in Coachella Valley, Southern California desert on April 15th and April 22nd.
However, it was announced last week that Beyonce had pulled out from headlining the annual music festival because her doctors advised her to “…keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months".
But not to worry because, hot off her performance at this year’s Superbowl, Lady Gaga has been announced as her replacement.
The “Just Dance” and “Perfect Illusion” singer, who will be going on a world tour in August to promote her new album “Joanne” (released last October), is set to perform on both Saturday’s of the festival at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California.
While not a lot of information has been revealed about Lady Gaga’s performance and what festival goers should expect to see during her sets, it has been reported that festival organizers are working on bringing her large set to the show grounds to give fans a “fuller experience” of her show—and know Lady Gaga, fans will get that.
And although fans may be disappointed that Beyonce will be sitting this year’s Coachella out due to health and pregnancy reasons, especially since she will likely be in her third trimester by the time the April festival comes around, this can still be a great thing.
This is because, according to reports, Coachella organizers really wanted a female performer to replace Beyonce as the festival’s headliner this year, as there hasn’t been one since Icelandic singer Bjork headlined in 2007.
But if you’re still upset about missing out on Beyonce performing this year, it has been announced she will headline Coachella in 2018.
