Australia’s biggest omnichannel show – TOTAL Retail & Payments EXPO Event took place in Melbourne from the 11-12 May 2016.
And CrowdInk was there, visiting the tents, finding out about some amazing innovations in the Retail & Payment industry, and taking the pulse of the event. And was that pulse beating. From new beacon technology that should be taking the place of those bulky security sensors attached to clothing, to discovering Melbourne’s go-to bank for technology (it’s Commonwealth), we had the opportunity to connect with thought leaders and innovators in person featuring their new tech.
Most representatives at the technology expo attended with two goals: to feature their own services and products and to connect with businesses that could potentially partner to create new solutions.
The TOTAL Retail & Payments EXPO headlined some of the world’s most innovative thought leaders, including:
Doug Stephens, Founder & President, Retail Prophet; and Author, ‘The Retail Revival’ (US)
David Murray, Former CEO, Commonwealth Bank of Australia Ian Jindal, Founder & Editor in Chief, InternetRetailing (UK)
Tami Hargreaves, Commercial Director, Digital Consumer Payments, Barclaycard (UK)
Dave Selinger, Founder, RichRelevance (USA)
Joy Marrocco, General Manager, Retail Technology & Digital Innovation, Telstra
Sujeet Rana, Head of Digital Technology, Woolworths
The TOTAL Retail & Payments EXPO is Australia’s only full-scale expo which combines digital commerce, payments and retail/eTail together with mobile, social, analytics, marketing tech, loyalty, customer experience and engagement technology. This event trended on Twitter with the hashtag #TotalExpoAu, had over 5.4 million impressions and reached over 892,000 Twitter accounts.
All in all, vendors, visitors, and representatives of some of the biggest brands in the sector felt the event went swimmingly.
