It’s been a few years since the big boom in Macaroon food fashion, but it was National Macaroon Day recently, so they’ve fortunately made their way back into our minds.
We took our eyes off the macaroon market for a bit, and these are the flavours they’ve come up with in the meantime:
Blueberry Cheesecake
These blueberry cheesecake macaroons are making us salivate – think vanilla, cream cheese, and blueberry jam. Divine.
Lavender-Honey
We’re definitely okay with flowers being in our food if it tastes like it smells. These macaroons are made with almond, marscapone, honey, and lavender.
Cassis
Cassis macaroons are made with white chocolate ganache and blackcurrant. It’s a combination to make your heart sing.
Matcha
We haven’t thought of putting the latest trend in green tea in a macaroon before, but we’re pretty sure we’re going to like it.
Jasmine
A mix of jasmine tea and dark chocolate in a macaroon is always going to be a winner.
Mint-White Chocolate
A slight twist on the favourite mint-choc combination, these macaroons sound fresh and delicious.
Oreo
We’re always looking for new ways to sneak our favourite chocolate and cream biscuit into other parts of our food life, and this has definitely made it into the top 3.
Red Bean
The green tea macaroons with a red bean filling give us a bit more of an adventurous flavour to finish, but we’re definitely willing to give it a go.
