Fashionistas and trendsetters everywhere released a collective sob of relief with Cara Delevingne’s tweet:
I never quit.
The tweet was sent just after Yves Saint-Laurent’s official twitter released a series of shots from a shoot with Delevingne that took place in New York City on March 17.
It was a response to critics of Delevingne’s recent re-focusing of her career on acting. The shots released are an intimidating warning to those critics: don’t count me out.
In the released black and white shots, shot by Hedi Slimane (as was Delevingne’s 2013 shoot), the 23 year old model absolutely smolders with smoky, dramatic eyes, intense stares, and bold, dark lips. The tense angles of her shoulders, collarbones, and arms create some beautiful lines that are an obvious match for Saint-Laurent’s new line.
