With the year coming to a close, more festivities and events are planned to help you enjoy the start of the warmer months.

From festivals to exhibitions, here’s what Melburnians have got to look forward to this month.

Melbourne Cup Carnival

Possibly one of the most noteworthy events of the month, the Melbourne Cup Carnival kicks off November with a bang. With multiple race days scheduled over a week, the carnival encompasses horseracing, fashion, food and festivities for you to indulge in.

When?   29 October – 5 November

Melbourne Music Week

Spanning over nine days, the Melbourne Music week is the place to be to discover international, national and local artists as well as a range of exhibits, workshops and events.

The state library will be transformed into the hub for 2016, where the Queen’s Hall will host many of the marquee performances and will be the main performance space.

With a variety of exciting events, there’s something for everyone.

When? 11 November – 19 November

Remembrance Day

Every year on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month we pause for a minute silence to remember those who have lost their lives or suffered serving at war.

This year why not attend the Remembrance Day service at The Shrine to fully immerse yourself in the significance of the day.

The ceremony begins at 10:30 and anyone is welcome to attend.

The Age Good Food Month

Are you a typical Melbourne foodie? Well then lucky for you November is the month that food lovers all across Melbourne unite for Goof Food Month. With hundreds of events taking place right across the state you’ll have the chance to participate in master classes, tastings and one off events like no other.

Night Noodle Market

Market lovers rejoice for you are in for a treat this November! The Noodle Market is set to make a comeback bigger and better than before. Get your tastebuds ready because this is not to be missed.

Showcasing delicious food and drinks and boasting entertainment under the stars, this night market has something for everyone including dragon dancers as one source of your entertainment. Certainly one to live up to the buzz and hype that surrounds it every season.

When? 10 November – 27 November

The Art of Banksy

The Art of Banksy exhibition focuses on the work and mind of Banksy and his street art. More than 80 works will be on display, which is the largest collection of pieces to be shown in Australia.

With an outdoor area dedicated to hosing DJs on selected nights, this event located in Federation Square is a highly anticipated one of the season.
