Hamilton, the famous play that has won multiple Tony Awards and has been going on for 4 year, is coming to Sydney Lyric Theatre in Sydney, New South Wales from March to August 2021. The musical showcases the life of one of America’s founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton, his vision and hard work to build America from the ground up. What makes this musical worth seeing is its brilliantly written songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda which have mixed genres of pop, hip hop, soul and Broadway. The play also believes in blind casting—casting without considering the ethnicity of the people which makes it really unique.
Lin-Manuel Miranda was inspired to write the play after reading a biography on Alexander Hamilton and decided that he resonated with his character considering how he was an immigrant and was able to rise up to the top. The play won several awards including 11 Tony Awards and the 2016 Pulitzer Price for Drama. This play is not one you want to miss!
