A documentary about the life of Heath Ledger is set to be released later next month, featuring never before seen footage.

Heath ledger was the apple of Australia’s eye- as an incredible actor and director.

He’s starred in countless roles, including the Joker in The Dark Knight, Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain and William Thatcher in A Knight’s tale.

And not to mention my long running teenage crush in ‘10 things I hate about you’.

The actor tragically passed away in 2008 in his apartment, due to accidental overdose of painkillers and sedatives.

Almost ten years later, the trailer for the film has been released as homage to his life. It was released on the 4th of April, which would’ve been the actor’s 38th birthday.

The trailer shows never seen before home footage of Heath Ledger and also interviews with family, friends and colleagues.

His friend, musician Ben Harper describes him as being the “most alive person”.

And director Ang Lee- who worked with him on Brokeback Mountain- said “even as a supporting actor he will steal the whole show, that is the power of Heath Ledger.”

The documentary is set to be a sad, beautiful watch and is certain to offer a fresh insight into his true character.

This is a must see for all the Heath Ledger fans out there (so basically the whole of Australia).
