A new travel spot has caught the attention of Australian holiday seekers.
According to Flight Centre’s annual Turner Report, which offers an in-depth look into the travel patterns of Australians, New Caledonia is the fastest growing holiday destination.
The survey showed an increase of 42 per cent growth in bookings throughout 2016.
The island of New Caledonia is located East of Australia in the Pacific ocean and is known for its beautiful beaches, having the world’s largest enclosed lagoon as well as its gorgeous French cuisine and culture.
Experts believe the main reason why its soaring in popularity, is because it’s so close to Australia, and the fares are so cheap.
Last month, New Caledonia was included in a list of the top 10 most affordable countries to visit from Australia by Cheapflights. And Expedia named New Caledonia one of the best value-for-money alternatives to Bali.
With fares dropping as well as the cruise options multiplying, New Caledonia is one of the new growth areas.
And with shots like these you can see why it’s such a popular destination. We’ll let the pictures do all the talking.
