Make Your Own 2-Ingredient, Eco-Friendly Candle

Candles from the store are often loaded with harmful chemicals. On top of which, who needs all of that plastic packaging and glass that you’re more likely to throw away than repurpose?

And, let’s be honest, as much as you keep saying you’ll get to that arts store or all-organic whole foods and herbal remedies place, who has the time?

Our solution? A 2-ingredient candle that you can make it home with materials everyone probably has in their kitchen.

You’re going to need:

That’s it.

Step 1: Cut your fruit around the circumference of the peel without breaking through the fruit itself.

Step 2: Carefully remove the fruit, leaving the “stem” of the peel intact.

Step 3: Add about 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Step 4: Add a segment or two of the fruit to your candle.

Step 5: Put on a plate (the base gets hot) and light it up!
