You’ll find yourself yelling at the screen as you envision ways you would fend off a psychopathic killer without key senses, a phone or even Wi-Fi.
Lights Out (2016)
This film follows a woman delving in to her dark past to protect her family from a supernatural creature lurking in the shadows. Although it may appear clichéd from the outset, it delivers surprising depth and well-executed scares that will amplify your own fears of the dark, and make you want to sleep with your lamp on and one eye open.
Gerald’s Game (2017)
Although the film initially gives off some serious Fifty Shades vibes, it goes from erotic to psychotic faster than you could unlock a pair of handcuffs. Staying true to the Stephen King novel, we witness Jessie’s attempt to spice up her marriage transform into an agonizing, gruesome and completely unforgettable battle towards survival and self-discovery.
