Barbara Troughton, Michael Modesti, and Peter Koever are still missing. Police urge anyone with information regarding their whereabouts to contact local authorities.

National Missing Persons Week - AUS

Police are urging families, friends, colleagues, and communities across Australia to stay connected this National Missing Persons Week (31 July – 6 August), which launched earlier this week in Melbourne to draw attention to people in our community who are still missing.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP), through its National Missing Persons Coordination Centre, has partnered with Victoria Police for this year’s campaign; Missing people leave frayed edges—Stay connected. With more than 35,000 people in Australian reported as missing each year, the campaign aims to draw attention to those still missing, as well as highlight support services available for their family and friends.

Missing: Barbara Troughton (QLD)

  • Barbara Troughton, aged 54 at the time of disappearance, was last seen at a residence on Charlotte St, Newtown Queensland on the morning of Wednesday 27 January 2015.
  • Barbara is described as being Caucasian in appearance and around 163cm tall with reddish-brown hair and green eyes.
  • Barbara has not made contact with any family or friends, and her disappearance is described as out of character.

Missing: Michael Modesti (SA)

  • Michael Modesti was last spoken to by his girlfriend via telephone around 10.45pm on Sunday 8 May, 2016 from his home in Beverley, South Australia.
  • It is believed Michael left his home address sometime after 8.30am the following morning in his dark blue 2005 Mitsubishi Magna 360 sedan, with SA registration XPC-764. He was reported missing by his family later that evening.
  • His vehicle was found three days later parked at West Croydon (around 3km north of his home address).
  • The circumstances of his disappearance are subject to a murder investigation.

Missing: Peter Josef Koever (NT)

  • Peter Koever was reported missing to Darwin Police in July 2010, however was last sighted on 1 December 2009 at his residence at Ironwood Place, Girraween Northern Territory.
  • Peter, aged 55 years old at the time of disappearance, was a Hungarian National living in Darwin, Northern Territory.
  • He is described as a caucasian male of medium build, approximately 176cm tall, dark complexion and having short, red/brown hair with a beard.
  • Prior to his disappearance Peter informed friends he intended to return to Hungary. Despite extensive enquiries he has not been located. It is possible that Peter may now use the name Peter Bindr.
