A recent study by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and Imperial College London has concluded that the general consumption of coffee is associated with reduced risk of various causes. With news like this hitting an increasingly health conscious and coffee crazed Melbourne, I expect to see people doing backflips in the streets with a coffee cup in one hand and hot coffee all over them.

This fantastic news doesn’t mean that people should go overboard with their coffee consumption, though. I for one am prone to over doing it and getting caffeine jitters or coffee-induced headaches.

What it does mean is that you can hit your local café and enjoy a delicious latte with a clean conscience. Although if you’re getting your coffee takeaway consider bringing a reusable cup, we don’t want to push our 50,000 takeaway cups per half hour rate any higher.
