Good Beer Week General Manager Siobhan Kerin said, “The program has taken a slightly new direction this year with some really strong music and beer events that are standing out from the crowd, these events are an amazing example of Melbourne’s best in beer and music culture.”

Queensland’s Balter Brewing, famously known for being owned by four pro-surfers including Mick Fanning, is bringing a horde of entertaining events to Melbourne. Comedian Luke McGregor will headline a night of entertainment, fine food and Balter brews at Coal Lotta Laughs at The Third Day in North Melbourne. World-class chefs Matt Stone and Jo Barrett of Oakridge Kitchen will also present a four-course dinner matched with Balter’s latest brews.

A Day on the Cans is a single-stage music, beer and arts festival happening with Moon Dog Brewery at its new site in Preston. British India, Ali Barter, Tumbleweed and many more bands to be announced will take to the stage. Watch the giant black wall of the brewery transform with live street art, DJs, tattooing and more.

Got a competitive streak? Holes ‘n’ Hops 2019 was the first event to sell out at the last three Sydney Beer Week’s, so don’t miss out on this year’s Holes ‘n’ Hops in Melbourne. For $110, guests will get nine holes at Albert Park Golf Club with a beer from Modus Operandi brewery at each hole.

People will get a chance to network, learn and make new connections. Most events are free, however you will need to register a spot.

If you want to further your beer knowledge, Good Beer Week has partnered with Little Creatures to present the Little Creatures Beer School all week at the Duke of Wellington Hotel. These classes will provide drinkers a unique insight into how beer is made, and how certain ingredients work. There will be tasters too, of course.

Boatrocker are also part of our education program this year with an advanced Boatrocker University program at the Whisky and Alement Whisky Room. That features things such as in depth looks at food matching with Rob Kaboord from Quay (Sydney), or how beer can be distilled in to spirits with Boatrocker founder Matt Houghton.
