The MTV Video Music Awards are done and dusted for another year and though a few things happened, I’ll try to keep it brief.

Katy Perry hosted, made some jokes and performed in some rather odd, satirical skits.

Thirty minutes in, Taylor Swift’s new music video for ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ premiered and included graveyard zombies and Swift sitting on a golden throne, bathing in diamonds and swinging in a cage, while former incarnations of herself desperately attempt to reach her ‘new self’.

There were additional performances from Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, 30 Seconds to Mars, Pink— who later received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award from Ellen DeGeneres.
