The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (or VAMFF) is an annual celebration of fashion, arts, ideas and creative endeavour.

The festival has been running since the start of March and finishes on the 19th .

Established in 1997, the event stimulates and celebrates the Australian fashion industry.

As well as the iconic runway and fashion shows, it has been known to provide employment, networking and professional development opportunities for industry professionals in Melbourne.

The festival is now in its 21 st year, and is set to be bigger than ever with events running over the 18 days.

What makes this festival so special is that it doesn’t just rely on its runway shows.

Over the years, VAMFF has developed a full program of events that include off-site fashion, exhibitions, beauty workshops, film screenings, business seminars, capsule showcases of indigenous design and sustainable fashion as well as live entertainment.

It really is a jam packed three weeks!

This year, there are plenty of established designers including runways from Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.

Leading Australian designers include Dion Lee, Romance Was Born and Strateas Carlucci.

And it is also features emerging local artists Macgraw, Melbourne’s Kuwaii and Kacey Devlinand Bul.
