The 2017 Billboard Awards happened on Sunday, May 21 and Drake was the big winner with 13 awards, beating Adele’s previous record of 12.
While accepting his award for Top Artist, Drake took to the stage with his whole family, nearly 24 people, which included his dad, Lil’ Wayne and Nicki Minaj.
He went on to thank Lil’ Wayne for being “the man that’s responsible for me being up here”, saying that Nicki Minaj was “the love of his life”, and directly telling Adele, the previous record holder, to “Hold tight Adele, because when a new album drops, you’ll fall back to get the record back”.
In addition to winning Top Artist, Drake also won Top Male Artist, Top 100 and 200 Artist, and Top Rap Artist.
