White Night is the annual event that sees light brought to the streets of Melbourne between the hours of 7pm and 7am, our city’s every nook and cranny transformed into a scene of artistic beauty and marvel.
Film screenings, musical performances as well as spectacular art and light installations shall be peppered around a number of venues in the CBD, allowing commoners to peruse the streets and look on in awe as Melbourne pulls out each and every stop.
The unique event tempts both city goers and out-of- towners to explore the streets of the cultural haven that is Melbourne, to come together and appreciate its grunge infused beauty.
There is so much going on I am unable to recommend any singular spot to stand or installation to visit, but I would strongly urge you to head to the White Night website (linked below) before you go, to help map your route for the night, to help ensure you don’t miss out on anything special.
The event is totally free with the biggest crowds flooding in between 9 and 11.30pm, so if you’re not a people person, best you avoid this timeframe.
Public transport will also be running all night long.
