75th Annual Golden Globes Winners

This years Golden Globes are going down in history. Here are our wonderful winners.

The top movie awards went to, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” for Best Motion Picture, Drama and, “Lady Bird” for Best Motion Picture, Comedy.

“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” also landed a few more awards with Frances McDormand winning Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama, Sam Rockwell winning Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture, and Martin McDonagh winning Best Screenplay, Motion Picture.

“The Greatest Showman” won Best Original Song, Motion Picture for their hit song, “This Is Me”. Which is now stuck in our heads for the rest of the evening.

“The Handmaid’s Tale”, Hulu won Best Television Series, Drama and Elisabeth Moss won Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama for her role on the show.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Drama went to Sterling K. Brown, for his role on “This Is Us”, and made history as the first black actor to win the award. He didn’t shy away from the moment either, claiming in his speech, “I’m being seen for who I am and appreciated for who I am, and it makes it that much more difficult to dismiss me or anyone who looks like me.”

Another celebrated moment for diversity in the entertainment industry went to Aziz Ansari who won Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series for his role in “Master Of None”.

“Big Little Lies” unsurprisingly and deservingly landed themselves a few Globes. The show won Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. Nicole Kidman won Best Performance by an Actress for her role on the show. Laura Dern won Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, and Alexander Skarsgard won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.

Best of all, Oprah Winfrey won the Cecil B. de Mille Award for Lifetime Achievement and stole the entire evening with her ground-breaking speech. Celebrating black women, the heroes of the #metoo campaign, and encouraging all the girls watching at home that, “that a new day is on the horizon”, she had a standing ovation with a whole lot of heart.

Allison Janney, “I, Tonya” for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture.

“Coco” for Best Motion Picture, Animated.

“In The Fade” for Best Motion Picture, Foreign Language.

Alexandre Desplat, “The Shape of Water” for Best Original Score, Motion Picture.

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, Amazon for Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy.

Rachel Brosnahan, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy.

Ewan McGregor, “Fargo” for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
