It’s been a big year for Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook’s profits are through the roof, the social media site was named the most popular social media platform in the world and he received an honorary doctorate from Harvard. But the biggest event of the year for Zuckerberg came just earlier last month.
He and his wife, Priscilla Chan, welcomed their new baby girl in August. Named after her birth month, the baby is Chan and Zuckerberg’s second daughter and younger sister to one-year-old Max.
After the birth of their first daughter in 2015, the couple penned a letter on Facebook announcing her birth. Writing about their hopes for a better and brighter future for their daughter, Chan and Zuckerberg followed this tradition when announcing the arrival of August. This time they stressed the importance of their daughter enjoying her childhood and expressed their joy at welcoming the new baby:
“Childhood is magical. You only get to be a child once, so don’t spend it worrying too much about the future. You’ve got us for that, and we’ll do everything we possibly can to make sure the world is a better place for you and all children in your generation.”
