Rupert Murdoch is selling off his empire and entrusting 21st Century Fox to Walt Disney. The entertainment company is being sold for an immense 66 billion dollars.

Disney will own an incomprehensible number of films and entertainment, previously the property of Fox, ranging from Avatar to The Simpsons.

The deal is expected to take over a year to close, with Disney chairman Bob Igor extending his contract until the end of 2021, in order to oversee the integration of assets.

Regulators are yet to approve the sale, but if the deal goes through it will undoubtedly transform the global media landscape.
