KFC’s New Chicken-Flavoured Product Is Not What You Think

With KFC Hong Kong’s recent release of a chicken-flavoured nail polish, ‘Finger Lickin’ Good’ just made it to a whole new level – and it’s not a good one.

In case you don’t already feel a bit gross after a session of Kentucky Fried Chicken, the company is now really making sure you can stoop to that next level of yuck.

The new nail polish developed by KFC Hong Kong, which is made of ‘all-natural’ ingredients, comes in their signature ‘Original’ and ‘Hot n Spicy’ chicken flavours. But… we thought they gave us the refreshment towels so our hands didn’t smell like chicken afterwards?

Other entrepreneurs, when deciding on innovative ways to modify nail polish, considered adding colour-changing abilities in the presence of heat or date rape drugs. Take note, KFC – these ideas are actually good.

It sounds like the creative people up in KFC’s headquarters are getting more than a little bored. Of all the companies to decide to release a flavoured nail polish, it was a fast food company? They didn’t even consider easing us into the idea with perhaps a dessert-flavoured nail polish. Fruit? Mint? Cola? Anyone? They could have picked anything else and it would have been a better idea than chicken.

Surely even the greatest, most loyal of KFC customers know that it’s not entirely socially acceptable to be licking your nails in public. Eating fast food together is a great way to spend time with friends – but if we’re busy chewing away at our fingers, we probably won’t have any for much longer.

Haven’t we been told by our parents (and health professionals) to stop sucking our thumbs or biting our nails? The amount of bacteria we’d be ingesting doesn’t bear thinking about.
Thankfully, it’s a limited edition, and we can all but hope that this doesn’t find its way to any other country. There are many ways to make it okay for guys to wear nail polish, but this isn’t one of them.

KFC, you’re good at what you do, and it’s always been clear that beauty isn’t your thing. You do you, and someone else will do nail polish.
Anyone else, please.
