Stay away from salt

“Salt can cause the body to retain water, resulting in temporary fluid weight gain. To avoid excessive sodium consumption, opt for foods that are closest to their natural state (such as fresh fruits, vegetables and grains)”- Jessica Matthews, ACE personal trainer, health coach and yoga instructor.

Take a probiotic

Probiotics help to restore the balance of good and bad bacteria in your gut according to gastroenterologist Sita Chokhavatia. She recommends a two week course to see if there are any improvements.

Slow down your eating

“When you take big bites of food and don’t chew properly, so you end up swallowing a tremendous amount of air” says Jeannie Gazzaniga-Moloo from the American Dietetic Association. Her advice is to take 15 to 20 minutes to eat each meal to stop air trapping in your system.

Detox with herbal tea
