Baggy Green Bags Big Donation.

In response to the disastrous bushfires currently hitting Australia, an outpour of positivity has been seen from celebrities, athletes and communities from all around the globe. With many famous faces auctioning off personal possessions or hosting charity events to come up with much needed donations for those at the forefront of this disaster.

Australian cricketer Shane Warne has chipped in with his own donation, that of his famous baggy green that he wore during his time as an Australian Test cricketer. A personal souvenir and a treasured part of his uniform, this donation was one that emphasised the willingness of Aussies to do their bit for those in need.

The cap went online for auction on Monday the 6^thand by Friday had surpassed the million-dollar mark and was well and truly sold. Many hopeful cricket fans avidly placed their bids with the hopes of obtaining a piece of Australian sporting history.

The final bid was placed under the name MC from Sydney, leaving many cricket fans to speculate that Australian cricketer Michael Clarke could be the face behind the generous donation. It was revealed the bidder was actually Commonwealth Bank CEO Matt Comyn.

Comyn purchased the cap for a final bid of $1,007,500, on behalf of the bank, with the funds going directly to the Red Cross bushfire appeal. The cap will be accompanied by an autographed certificate of authenticity and will tour throughout Australia to raise additional funds for the appeal, before taking up its final home at the Bradman Museum in Bowral, NSW, in a public display for all to come and see.
