FELLA Swimwear is Redefining Luxury

CrowdInk had the chance to sit down with Tayler Matthews of FELLA Swim. Tayler speaks about what’s hot this season, what makes FELLA Swim unique, and some hot tips for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to start, fun, and grow their own businesses.

CI: What was the inspiration behind FELLA Swim?

Tayler Matthews: We started F E L L A because we saw a gap in the market for simplistic, refined high quality swimsuits. This season our inspiration was rural Provence, France. The lavender fields, the olive trees, the rose, the stone architecture, and the dry hot heat in summer time of southern France.

CI: What’s hot this season?
TM: Block colours! We have done many block colours this season. Tangerine orange, a beautiful Aubergine maroon, olive khaki, electric blue and red, and baby blue and midnight blue. Again, cut outs are big, panelling is big, structured swimsuits are also hot this season.

CI: What are some of your biggest sellers?
TM:Always the Mad Max full piece, The Danny full piece is a bestselling classic, the Lennox & Louis tops, the Otis and Jasper bottoms.

CI: What makes FELLA unique?

TM:I think our style is very identifiable and something we carry across beyond just one season. We have a definite particular style. We are not big into fringe and fuss or florals. Clean lines, tailored fits, minimal, but sexy.

CI: What tip do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to start, run, and grow their own businesses?
TM: Stick at it! The first years are not going to be easy. Developing my own business has taught me self control and hard work, its changed my priorities a lot and its incredibly rewarding watching something grow from near to nothing.
