Salmon good for your diet

We all know losing weight is a common New Years resolution and a long, tough commitment for many. It also involves a lot of exercise and eating the right foods, whatever they may be!

After doing some research, I’ve found a few food lists that may assist you on your weight loss journey.

healthline.com listed twenty foods you should eat if you’re trying to lose weight, which include leafy greens like kale, because they are ‘low in calories and carbohydrates, but high in fibre, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants’. This list also suggests eating salmon and whole eggs because salmon is ‘loaded with high quality protein, healthy fats, and important nutrients’, while whole eggs are ‘high in protein and healthy fats’ and ‘don’t adversely affect blood cholesterol or cause heart attacks’.

Meanwhile, providr.com suggests eating oatmeal for its “fibre to keep you full and satisfied” and drinking green tea as it can ‘help mobilize fat from your cells and boost fat burning hormones’.

Both lists included some of the same food items which, along with a womenshealthmag.com article, are full-fat yoghurt/dairy, because it contains probiotics to “help the processes happening in your stomach”; avocados, because they contain ‘healthy fats and nutrients like fibre and potassium’; and nuts/almonds, because ‘they contain protein fibre and healthy fats and help improve metabolic health’.

So no matter what your weight loss goals are, hopefully these lists will help you start eating the right foods right now
