Glazed, dipped, caked or raised – you can find a lot of doughnuts in Melbourne these days, but few inspired by the aromas and flavours of home. Home being Oakleigh for brothers Nic and Yani, founders of the aptly titled, The Oakleigh Donut Co.

With flavours like Halva Nice Day, BaklaDough, Mastik & Pistachio and Galakdough, Nic and Yani have been inspired by the memories of eating their grandmothers homemade treats growing up together. In addition to their Mediterranean inspired fare they’ve also got a few classics like Nutella Ion or Salted Caramel for those looking for something simple.

Although we could be reaching doughnut breaking point in Melbourne, it’s when businesses like TODCO bring a sense of their family and of themselves to a trend that we can come onto to something new.
