Stella McCartney has always been known within the fashion industry for being innovative and eco-friendly with her collections as an individual who has battled against the leather and fur stance.

Now, taking her great ethic and philosophy one step further in a new partnership with Parley for the Oceans – a wildlife ocean-saving organisation – McCartney is now in the process of producing yarn from recycled plastic debris collected from the ocean.

Speaking to the New York Times, McCartney stated that as one of the leading and most popular brands in the industry, she hopes to be able to “take something that is destructive and turn it into something that’s sexy and cool – how can that not be luxury?”
