The writing was on the wall as soon as the dust from the leadership spill settled. After Julia Banks condemned the bullying and intimidation she had witnessed during the ordeal, she was labeled a ‘problem’ by her male Liberal colleagues.

Banks was increasingly concerned with the party’s willingness to bow down to its conservative base. And she was finally pushed out the door after months of receiving the cold shoulder.

While the Liberal Party might have felt justified in their ousting of one of their few female members, it now has plunged even further into the minority, raising alarm for the impending Federal Election.
